still friday

This has been such a looooooong day. Possibly seems like that because the temperature in the office has been gradually going up since I came in at 9. Now the fan sitting on my desk is just blowing warm air at me. Still, I can’t bear the thought of stwitching it off - fast moving warm air still beats still air.

Was sorely tempted to buy GTA:SA at lunch time but (unfortunately / luckily - delete as appropriate) the Safeway down near my work doesn’t sell anything as exciting as games or DVDs so I couldn’t get it.

Still really want to beef up my graphics card before I get any new games but I seem to be locked into a vicious cycle:

  • Find a graphics card I want
  • Get annoyed that it’s so expensive
  • Wait till price comes down
  • Realise it’s now out of date and I don’t want it anymore
  • Repeat

So, quite tempted to get the PNY Geforce 6600GT. Then I’ll be ready for San Andreas and Half Life 2. If only I had the spare cash.

Still want to get an iPod as well. Colour 20Gb model is now about £190 which is very tempting. I know the other makes of MP3 player are probably better value but I use iTunes for all my music on my PC (the latest podcasting inclusion really cementing this) and the user inteface is so good that I think I’d be disappointed with anything else. Was mainly wanting it to take on holiday. I can’t be bothered lugging CDs and stuff. Ach, we’ll see.

Only 10 weeks to the wedding now. It’s going in fast but still seems like quite a while away. Still looking forward to it - no nerves or second thoughts (which I’m taking as a very good sign). It would be nice if it’s a day like this for it - sun splitting the trees.

I wonder if anyone would notice if I dragged my desk and PC out onto the front lawn and worked in the sun. Probably don’t have an extention long enough.
